Simple Flower

Simple Flower

Here you can learn how to fold a rather easy flower. I got the idea for it when I was in the army while not knowing what to fold out of a piece of paper. I began folding a crane and then somehow, I got the flower.

Start with a Birdbase.

Step 1

1. Swing one flap over. Repeat on the other side.

Step 2

2. Valley fold the flap up. Repeat on the other side.

Step 3

3. Open the flap in the middle. Valley fold the middle lines down to the bottom line. Precrease each fold seperately before you bring the top point down and flatten the model. The horizontal fold will be formed when you flatten the model, you don't have to make it.

Step 4

4. Repeat Step 3 on the other 3 flaps.

Step 5

5. Turn the model upside down (The top point is the bottom of this flower). Then open the model, carefully pulling one flap after the other (one layer of paper only!) outside. First open out three flaps and squash the bottom point flat, to form a square when you open out the forth flap. Be careful, not to destroy the shape of the leafs.

Step 6

6. The finished flower.

You can now go on to fold the extended flower, which is based on this model.
